Hive Web Design

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 16, 2026

This policy explains what information Hive Web Design LLC (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit hivewebco.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Summary

  • We collect what you type into our contact form, plus basic technical data, such as your IP address, that our hosting provider records when pages load.
  • We use it only to reply to you, prepare a quote, and keep the site running and secure.
  • We don't use cookies, analytics, ads, tracking pixels or third-party scripts.
  • We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Information we collect

When you send the contact form, we collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your business name (optional)
  • the service you're asking about (picked from a list)
  • your budget range (optional, picked from a list)
  • your project message

We don't save form submissions in a database. Each one is sent as an email through Resend, our email delivery service, to our business inbox. Your email address is set as the reply-to address.

To block spam, the contact form uses a hidden field and a minimum time to fill in the form. It also allows up to 5 messages from each IP address every 15 minutes. To enforce that limit, your IP address is held only in the server's memory, for that 15-minute window.

When pages load, our hosting provider records standard technical data in its server logs:

  • IP address
  • browser and device type (user agent)
  • the page requested
  • the time of the request
  • the response status

If you use the light/dark theme toggle, your choice is saved in your own browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a written quote
  • To run, secure and troubleshoot the website

We don't use contact form details for mailing lists or marketing emails. When we reply to your enquiry, we're answering a question you asked.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the site, deliver your message and handle client payments:

  • Resend, an email delivery service, sends contact form submissions to our inbox. It may keep a copy for a limited time under its own policy.
  • Railway, our hosting provider, runs the website and keeps server logs.
  • Our email inbox provider stores the emails we receive.
  • Stripe processes payments for clients (see “Clients” below).

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, such as to answer a valid subpoena or court order.

We don't sell personal information. We don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and tracking

This site doesn't use cookies, analytics, ads, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Our fonts are served from our own site, not from Google Fonts.

The only thing our site stores in your browser is your light/dark theme choice, if you set one. It never leaves your device.

We may later add Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that uses no cookies and doesn't collect personal data. It isn't installed today. If we add it, we'll update this policy first.

Do Not Track

We don't track visitors across websites, so our site doesn't respond differently to Do Not Track signals. There's nothing for them to turn off.

We don't allow other companies to collect personal information about your activity over time and across other websites through our site. The service providers listed above handle data for us only to run this site, deliver messages and process client payments.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't become projects: deleted within 2 years.
  • Client records and invoices: kept as long as the project needs them, and for tax and legal records (typically 7 years).
  • Spam-protection IP addresses: held only in the server's memory, for the 15-minute spam-limit window.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider, Railway, under its own retention period.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. We offer these choices to everyone who uses our site. To make a request, use our contact page and choose “Something else”. We may ask you to confirm your email address so we know the request is yours. We'll respond within 45 days. You can also email us at hello@hivewebco.com.

We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. So there is no sale or sharing for you to opt out of.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.

Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS. Access to our email inbox and hosting accounts is limited to the business owner. No website or email system can be made completely secure, but we take these steps to protect your information.

Clients

If you hire us, we use the project details, files and messages you send us to do the work. The written quote or agreement for your project covers how we handle them.

Invoices and payments go through Stripe-hosted invoices and checkout. Stripe processes your card and bank details. We never see or store full card numbers.

If we host your site, it runs on our hosting provider (Railway) under our account.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the update on this page with a new effective date.
